Anokha

Anokha is University of Maryland’s Premier All-Gender South Asian Acapella Team. They are the nation's oldest All-Gender Desi A Cappella team, established in 2001. Anokha spreads South Asian music and culture nationally by performing fusion music, all of which is arranged on their own. They’ve won several awards at competitions across the country and love performing at local community events. This season, Anokha won first place at Mehfil, Awaazein, and scored multiple individual awards at both competitions!​

Dhamakapella

Dhamakapella is Case Western Reserve University’s premier, competitive South Asian fusion a cappella team, deriving its influences from Indian classical, contemporary Bollywood, and Western musical genres. The group strives to create a single, cohesive sound through fusion arrangements, performs on campus and across the country, and enjoys releasing music on platforms such as Spotify, SoundCloud, and Apple Music each year.

Hum A Cappella

Born in the heart of Texas, Hum A Cappella is the University of Texas' very own South Asian fusion a cappella group. Although small in number in its beginnings, Hum now consists of numerous vocalists that exhibit various skill sets and work to blend cultures through combination of Western and South Asian music.

Illini Awaaz

Illini Awaaz A Cappella is the premier co-ed South Asian A Cappella team at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. We are a cooperative group of student musicians who bring together the stylings of contemporary English and Indian music to create a truly unique listening experience.

RAAG

Rutgers Raag is the premiere South Asian A Cappella team of Rutgers University. Founded in 2002, Raag is among the first competitive coed South Asian fusion groups nationwide, with award winning albums & showcases. Their members embrace diversity in culture and knowledge as they integrate Indian, Pakistani, and Sri Lankan classical music into their everyday lives as students in medicine, business, law, engineering… and of course, the one thing that unites us all: music!

Swaram A Cappella

Swaram A Cappella is Texas A&M University’s premier South Asian A Cappella team. Since its inception in 2007, the team has been renowned not only for competing at national collegiate a cappella competitions, but also for numerous national accolades. Recognized for its avant-garde twist on South Asian fusion a cappella, Swaram enjoys bringing powerful stories to its music through the representation of socially and politically prevalent concepts.

UGA Kalakaar

UGA Kalakaar is the University of Georgia’s premier competitive acapella team which performs throughout the Atlanta area as well as competes nationwide. Beyond the notes and melodies, UGA Kalakaar's music is a place of unity, bringing together individuals through the language of music.UGA Kalakaar is continuously pushing its boundaries and experimenting with various styles and genres of music. After months of hard work and perseverance, UGA Kalakaar is elated to showcase everything they've worked on throughout the year at A3.

UW Awaaz

UW Awaaz is a South-Asian fusion a cappella group which takes songs from South-Asian and Western culture and creates harmonious arrangements of all varieties. Founded in 2009 by UW alumni Joyita Banerjee and Pratyusha Banik, Awaaz has followed in the tradition of other South-Asian a cappella groups while continuing to innovate the genre by incorporating elements from different cultures and media.
